The Destiny of Abandoned Dogs and Cats

Every year about 740,000 dogs and cats abandoned by unresponsible owners are gathered at health centers. Most of them are killed while some of them are sold or given away for experimental use. (according to the statistics investigated in 1995 by JAVA)

Almost all of the local governments suffocate animals using CO2 as a method of killing them. They call it euthanasia or mercy killing.

Some local governments give away or sell abandoned dogs and cats gathered at health centers or animal control facilities to pharmaceutical companies, hospitals and universities research centers. Young, healthy and friendly dogs and cats are normally the first choice.

If you cannot take care of the newly-born puppies and kittens through all their lives with love, you should not let them be born. Sterilization is necessary in order to reduce the number of dogs and cats who are born only to be killed.
