What is Needed is "Heart"

A Lifestyle That is Kind to Nature and Animals is also Kind to Human Beings.

Taking a stand to oppose animal testing does not necessarily mean taking a stand to oppose advancement in medical science and scientific studies.

Just as we are suffering from various environmental problems as a result of our self-centered views which disregard harmony with nature, we are inviting our own suffering by conducting animal testing which inflicts suffering and pain on animals for the sake of human beings.

Like all other living creatures, we are also members of the earth and part of the same ecosystem. The heart to cherish nature and life is essential to enhancing human health and improving the quality of life.

We must reflect deeply on what constitutes an affluent and peaceful life. We must not be misguided by immediate conveniences and must learn to do without excessive chemically produced materials and medicines.

An attitude of sympathy with nature and one that allows a person to feel sympathy toward other living creatures is key to solving various environmental and social problems. Such an attitude would eventually lead to a lifestyle that does not require animal testing.

Many foreign cosmetic makers now put a "No Animal Testing" label on their products. Those people who care about the environment and animals can choose products with a "No Animal Testing" label just as easily as people choose products marked "made of recycled paper" in countries other than Japan.

Today more cosmetic makers in Japan are beginning to put "No Animal Testing" labels on their products. This corresponds to an increase in the number of people demanding organic foods or foods without additives.
